4.5/5 because of the ending. Woah! Eleanor Oliphant meets thriller?? Sign me up. I was hooked from page 1. I loved the character development and mystery with the dual plot line. Definitely a unique book in every way and my favorite read of the year so far.

This completely pulled me in and I honestly couldn’t put it down. The short chapters were perfect for binge reading; every time I told myself "just one more," I kept going. It’s incredibly addictive and had such a unique take on the psychological thriller genre.
That said, the ending didn’t quite work for me. It felt like everything was wrapped up a bit too quickly and neatly after the build-up.
Still, I can appreciate this novel for keeping me guessing, turning that page and giving me a new summer recommendation!

I really, really loved this book and was all set to give it 5 stars, but I was disappointed with the ending. No spoilers—just left me a bit meh. A darker twist on Eleanor Oliphant, with an equally lovable female lead. Would be a good book club read, as there is much to discuss, including neurodiversity, the legacy of abuse, and the healing power of friendship.
