Big Finish doesn’t really work for me. Or audiobooks in general. I can listen to memoirs alright and I’ve got into podcasts. But actually following a story along I find my mind can easily wander.
I’ve listened to a decent few Big Finish Dr Who efforts now and I’ve never been wowed. There’s been a few I’ve found alright but I find there’s an over reliance on having monsters that have weird sounding voices (usually voiced by Nic Briggs, who yeah has done a great job of the Cybermen here and the Daleks). I know it’s an audio format so it makes sense but the voices are distorted and weird. It’s like they’ve gone they can’t see them so we really need to empathise how alien they are. Rather than making them alien by their actions and what they say. Not how they say them. The Cybercontroller voice is the prime example. It’s way too overly messed with. It’s really hard to understand and just becomes white noise in your ears. And I’m not the first to point that out.
I also found the northern accents were a bit too much from the first episode onwards. And I’m a northerner. Just the usual thing, first episode was ok, but not amazing, and it went on my interest waned and by the end I was a bit lost.

Among the best Cybermen stories, if not the best one. Very good pacing. Sad/disturbing in places - as all good Cybermen stories should be.
