- What a traumatising follow up. Even more crazy and wild than the first and leaves a sense of dread for what’s to come

In some ways this was better than the first book, but in some ways it wasn't better. It was less gruesome, but had more real terror.
People, once again, are the real monsters in the world. This was infuriating to read,

Book 2 carries on where we left off with Book 1, showing our main trio a little shaken up and worse for wear. Quinn, Rust, and Cole all deal with their respective trauma from the event in various ways (anxious fitness drills, continuous scanning of surroundings, and, in Cole's case, asshole behaviour). A lot was happening within this book, but I was here with it overall. Some conspiracy and hoax elements were brewing and keeping Frendo's legacy alive, an almost Michael Myers-esque villain was seen in Arthur Hill (kind of), and the threat of the Internet and its ability to form virtual and physical mobs loomed over the story. Part of me wishes we got to spend more time at Duvall Farms Haunted Hayride and Scream Park (the site of the massacre from the first book). It took such a central role at the beginning, but the final showdown took place nowhere near there. I feel like this book could have knocked it out of the part if it had taken a second to tighten up some of the pov's and maybe saved Arthur Hill for a later book instead of this one. Aside from that, I still really enjoyed the book and the new characters AND I am REALLY excited to see where Quinn will be based on the final scene of the book.

I adore Jerri and I want only lovely, happy things for her...but also I want her in the next book so I guess terrible, awful things will have to happen to her again. Rooting for her! You go, little sister!
