THIS BOOK HAD EVERYTHINGG!!!! I loved it!!!!! FRENDO is really becoming a horror icon and after the news of the movie for the first book, cant wait to see him on the big screen. I know people get very touchy on sequels of movies or book trilogies but i think this was a great sequel. Off the first chapters, stuff was happening and even introduced to a few more characters but it not like an icebreaker thing, it felt natural to put them in the story, especially Jerri. Jerri story was so sad, that flashback of how her sister died was heartbreaking but definitely leaves a lot of foreshadowing. I loved that we get the trio back early in the book and see their dynamic even after the events of the first book. I love that there were still moments of wondering who the clowns were and their motive play out. It always kept me on my toes and made me gasp in the frendo/clown moments. The second half just like in the first book had many of the violent, big reveals which i loved so much. The pacing of this book didnt feel rushed like it was a good speed. I will say the though there were moments of different povs that were confusing but, i was able to keep up and went in hand with the pacing so didnt mind it after a while. My only con honestly, everything was awesome!! Cant wait for the 3rd and final book!!

Not quite as fun at the first book but still great! If you like Scream-esque slashers you’ll love this series.

"FRENDO LIVES"

Book 2 carries on where we left off with Book 1, showing our main trio a little shaken up and worse for wear. Quinn, Rust, and Cole all deal with their respective trauma from the event in various ways (anxious fitness drills, continuous scanning of surroundings, and, in Cole's case, asshole behaviour). A lot was happening within this book, but I was here with it overall. Some conspiracy and hoax elements were brewing and keeping Frendo's legacy alive, an almost Michael Myers-esque villain was seen in Arthur Hill (kind of), and the threat of the Internet and its ability to form virtual and physical mobs loomed over the story. Part of me wishes we got to spend more time at Duvall Farms Haunted Hayride and Scream Park (the site of the massacre from the first book). It took such a central role at the beginning, but the final showdown took place nowhere near there. I feel like this book could have knocked it out of the part if it had taken a second to tighten up some of the pov's and maybe saved Arthur Hill for a later book instead of this one. Aside from that, I still really enjoyed the book and the new characters AND I am REALLY excited to see where Quinn will be based on the final scene of the book.

I love when authors produce great sequels! Its so rare for me to find series that give me just as much energy and entertainment through the books as the first book gave. And Adam Cesare did an amazing job with this sequel.

I really love Quinn and the relationship between Cole and Rust. Getting to read more of their friendships/relationships after the horror of the first book was so much fun.

Marta Lee and Izzy .... they were great additions to the story. Hunter was too, although I really wanted to strangle him at times, but I am sure that was the point.... well and Cole when it came to them talking to each other.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly and Jesse does an AMAZING job with the audio books.

Compulsively readable, Clown in a Cornfield 2's pivot to a parable about mob mentality is fun, but leaves much more promising material on the table.

Begins with Scream VI vibes but then becomes a whole new thing of murder madness and scathing commentary. Very fun and riveting.

I adore Jerri and I want only lovely, happy things for her...but also I want her in the next book so I guess terrible, awful things will have to happen to her again. Rooting for her! You go, little sister!

Very rarely do I like a sequel (unless it's a YA girl 12-14 series) and I can say with my whole chest this is equal to the original. It's fun and frightening in the best way. The characters from the first book expanded in ways that didn't chastise the original material.
The introduction or Jerri was so good and her story was a perfect introduction into the original three's story. The relationship she had with Ms. Reyes was complex to say the least.
'You do deserve this.' will stick around in my head for a while.

Can't wait for the next chapter of this story.

Crying score: nope
