In some ways this was better than the first book, but in some ways it wasn't better. It was less gruesome, but had more real terror.

People, once again, are the real monsters in the world. This was infuriating to read,
and I can't wait to read all about Quinn getting her revenge.

I (a Canadian) read this at the same time that I read a non-fiction book about the Salem Witch Trials and THIS made me more disappointed in Americans.

Not as thrilling or vicious as the first, but it is still an exceptional horror YA about fraudulent conspiracy theories, mob mentality, and the effects of using said lies to target disenfranchised victims.

This book manages even more of a true slasher feel than the first while still delivering big scenes and plot twists. Further modernizing the slasher tropes, this book is an example of a sequel done well that builds on the success of the first.
