Overall Impression:
This book was a wild ride, it wasn’t my favorite. I always enjoy a good pallet cleansing JP novel. They are easy to read, accessible, and very engaging. I am thoroughly intrigued by this series, and the way JP and Maxine can so easily make each book so different, while keeping those main overarching plot lines in tact. It’s too early to tell, but it might be my favorite crime thriller series to date. And I’m going to read them all.
Characters:
Yuki’s official welcome to the WMC was a wild one. So far, I like her. Since she’s a lawyer, I suspect that she will be intelligent and mentally driven throughout the series, but we shall see. Lindsey and Claire always make the book so much better. Lindsey’s instincts and street smarts with Claire’s brilliance and straightforwardness always makes for a great time. I am always excited to see them together. Then, there is Cindy. Whew. I can tell she is young and very career driven, even at the expense of her life. Her lack of thinking things through makes her my least favorite character of the group, and that includes the men too. I see trouble in her future…but I’m still invested.
Plot:
This time, the Women’s Murder Club (WMC) is dealing with a suspect murdering hospital patients. All in all, the plot shook my world as always. I can’t see myself hating any of these books. They’re tension building, high stakes, almost never ending roller coaster rides that I cannot seem to get off of.
Themes:
Romantic tension
Murder
Platonic relationships
Strong friend group
Characters 6/10
Atmosphere 7/10
Writing Style 6/10
Plot 6/10
Intrigue 6/10
Logic / Relationships 6/10
Enjoyment 6/10

Again I really liked the book. I love the suspense in them. It can be a bit confusing at times when it's switching pov's but other than that I really liked it!

This one was a lot better than it's predecessors. There were two main storylines but they were put together well and a lot of the forced cheesy writing was gone!
