Never disappointed by James.
Just when I’ve figured out the next twist, it comes *but* it brings an unforeseen twist. Kept me on my toes. Loved it.

Very entertaining and fast-paced. You can tell there is a different writer collaborating with Patterson. It's not all about saying the killer's nickname 1000 times. The points-of-view are really neat, too. I like seeing it from different people, with only Lindsay in the first person. Definitely a different way of writing and telling the story. This one also had a trial, and I knew that one person involved from the beginning (not the obvious one, either). But I like following Lindsay's story, and I like the girls in the club. They are like my girls now.

I'm hoping these books start to get better soon because I really liked the first few but the last couple have just not been good.
The main plot (unexplained hospital deaths) made me super uneasy - definitely a new fear created... However, the secondary plot (car girls) was so disjointed from the rest of the book that I don't know what it existed?? Like girls were being murdered, we had a random moment of transphobia and then the plot was quickly wrapped up. What did it add to the rest of the book? Nothing as far as I can tell.
Overall the book just wasn't as good as it could have been - I feel like I'm getting more and more tired of Lindsay and would love to see more of Claire and the other women, but they've really just been sidelined the last couple of books unless they're experiencing personal tragedies.
