This book is really good, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book with the next couple and what happens with their story and how it ends and ties in with all the other books in this series

“Oh, and Maddie?”
“Yeah?”
“You sound really pretty today.”

‘When we were together, we didn’t have the pressure of living up to what everyone else expected us to be.’

🍰 First in a series
🍰 Dual POV
🍰 Enemies to lovers
🍰 Boss / Employee
🍰 Famous chefs
🍰 Banter
🍰 Nickname
🍰 Possessive MC
🍰 Meddling family / friends
🍰 Well established secondary characters for future books
🍰 Epilogue
🚩 MMC uses FMC’s friend’s death as an excuse to chat her up. All characters treat the passing as a non event. It felt awkward and stilted.
⚫️ There’s a lack of resolution; communication issues and work pressures straining the relationship are never worked through.
⚫️ Gifts and random memories are made out to be significant but weren’t woven into the plot adequately; they felt tokenistic.

⚠️ Cancer (secondary character), dementia (secondary character), parental abandonment (past), death.
