At first the book was VERY confusing, I read it in one go and was constantly thinking about it. I think i really started to understand it a few days later. Basically the whole book screams "childhood trauma and its consequences in adulthood". Overall it's a great story, just a little difficult to read in my opinion. (Probably cause it's so old, i had to look up quite a few words.)

Highly recommend this book tho, cause there's nothing even similar to it. ETA Hoffmann always writes in a very specific style.
