Killer Instinct is the second book in The Naturals series which follows seventeen year old Cassie Hobbes who has been recruited as a natural profiler for the FBI. When murders start to pop up that seem to follow the same MO of a serial killer who is locked away, Cassie and her friends have to try to stop this killer before they kill more people.
I thought this was such a solid second book in a series and didn't suffer from the second book syndrome. I flew through this book when I got a chance to sit down and read it. These books are written in such a way that they are easy to fly through and to read. I also really love the narrative device of us being in Cassie's head then in the killers head every few chapters. It makes you feel a bit unsettled but I found it intriguing all the same.
I really like Cassie as a main character and find her intersting to read from. Her perspective is so fascinating because how she see's other people is through the eyes of a profiler and not so much a normal seventeen year old girl. She's smart and though she can make decisions that aren't the best, I thought she handled them so well.
I am excited to read the next book in the series and I cannot wait to continue on with this series.
