The blurb for this book is incorrect and actually gives away a huge plot twist. I advise ignoring it and just start reading.

A few things to note:
1. The lead in is lengthy and falsely leads you to a sense of where it's going. (I loved that surprise.)
2. It is told in third person but instead of just the main characters it gives everyone's view. It takes an adjustment to get used to the style because there's no delineation from character to character.
3. This is not, I repeat, NOT a family you want to mess with.

Crystal is a bad @ss. Period. She is truly something else.

Troy is a dog. I want to smack him upside the head but I think that Crystal handles him well...eventually. I honestly spent some time questioning how much I liked her based on her choices. But boy, was I in for the twist of the century.

I am smirking and loving the ending. The nosy b!tch in me wants more. Boss was fun and I look forward to seeing what the author does next!

I'm a big Tracy Brown fan. After waiting so long for another book from her, I was excited to see Boss.
It was a little different than her other books. The story line was a little darker.
I liked the twists and turns. Little by little you learned exactly what happened to Crystal/Sydney's brother Malik, her mother and how Troy was connected.
But, I'm a little confused as to how he didn't recognize her? How could she have changed so completely? Not even her mannerisms remained the same?
Losing a sibling, and plotting a takeover can make one cold. But... I was feeling like I missed something.
Also, the constant descriptions of how beautiful Crystal/Sydney was and how fine Troy was? A little too much.
I was a little sad that Troy and Crystal/Sydney couldn't be together.
But, I'm wondering if this is truly a standalone?

This book was darn good! When the plot twisted and thickened and THICKENED I DID NOT SEE IT COMING! Tracy Brown will forever be my favorite author. May she sleep in peace.

It took me a while to get around to reading this book and when I did I wondered why I didn't read it earlier. Tracy Brown is my favourite author and I have read most of her books as a teenager and young adult. She never fails to deliver.
