All right the writing was beautiful, but I actually skimmed like the second half because it's just so so so slow and I just couldn't do it.

There's not really a plot, but it does flashback between when she started to be a vampire and where she's at now, but there wasn't a ton of action in either storyline really.

The pace is slow for a fantasy, but the writing pulls you in and the lore holds you there. What’s a vampire novel without some philosophy? This book has it in spades. I think it was a tad bit too long but ultimately it was immensely satisfying. The ending was incredible.

The start of the book was so promising, I thought this was my next five star read. But the later two thirds really drag. I agree with other reviewers that the story was too long. Very frustrating to read at a certain point how cowardly and weak the MC was. Girl stand up!!!
