I really went back and forth on how to rate this book. (I will say I have a tough time in general… I feel like my scale is so inconsistent)

I signed up for a thriller of sorts. A mystery. A drama. And I mostly got a “mystery” with predictable twists and some unexpected sex scenes. All that to say… I couldn’t put it down. Yep. Finished all 409 pages today. I’d perhaps like to try another Sandra Brown novel, and I imagine I will eventually. For now, I’ve decided it may be good to take a break from all the mysteries I’ve been reading that are somehow all the same. Lol.

This is the first Sandra Brown book I have read. It is really good. Had some wonderful characters and twists. I didn't know what was going to happen next. It was not typical of the romantic suspense I have been reading recently.
If you have been searching for a new romantic suspense to read that isn't a predictable cookie cutter story, look no further.

Pretty good novel. Not as suspenseful as I would've liked it to be. But over all, pretty good.

Wow, just wow. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this book. It's been a long time since a book captured my attention from the very first page. There is one word to describe this book: captivating.

Emory is obviously a self motivated go getter in life. She challenges her self to the extreme without thinking twice about it. So the day she sets off to train for her upcoming marathon on a mountain everyone is shocked when she doesn't come back. Fast forward Emory wakes up in a cabin with a mystery man that won't give his name and won't tell his story. All Emory knows is he must of done something pretty horrific to wanting to keep his identity a secret. As the book goes on she learns that not everyone in her life is who they seem and the mystery man might not be everything she imagined.

This book is a weakly plotted sex/romance novel. I felt like I was reading a second rate paperback geared toward middle-aged women looking for a good fantasy. It is neither tasteful nor worth reading.
