I would have rated this book a 4, but I felt like the description of what being a teenage whore in a brothel was like for that character was a bit of a male fantasy.  Perhaps he thought it was a way of showing how good and innocent she truly was, but it was, IMO, very unrealistic.

In general really enjoyed the plot, and quickly became fond of the characters, but parts were definitely repetitive (every time one of the male characters had an inner monologue about the war changing them especially) and some pieces also felt unnecessary in the story (the Garnet, Angie, Brody love triangle, and Angie’s whole origin story mostly). I did quite like the writing and the way the mystery unraveled overall.
