"I do not think the answer is in words, love," she says. "I think it is in living. In finding joy, however small, in every day. We'll struggle to trust happiness, at first, perhaps. But we can trust ourselves to reach for it always." - Laia of Serra

I haven't read a series that has ended in so much bloodshed in a while, and while the first 3/4 of the book was a slow slog through smaller fights, travel, and angst, the last quarter made this entire series worth it.

Might have cried through the last 15%

i am in SO MUCH PAIN.

At least my amazing lovers are still together. Helena and Laia my favorite besties the only happiness in this book. I’m sad i’m drained I’m surprised to say I am going to miss this series and the characters I grew to love. Even after everything Helene did she didn’t deserve this allllll. So much happened some unnecessary, but one thing is sure Elias and Laia are endgame and Laia is my perfect baby angel.

Slightly inflated rating bc it’s the final in the series and I enjoyed the series overall

Obvi we’ve really upped the stakes since the school trials of book 1 - but I thought this was a good ending to the series. Per usual in these types of things (fantasy series finales), a few too many dramatic character deaths and surprise reveals - but overall enjoyed this book, the final character developments, and the story telling generally

thank you so much for this book

I feel like I should've expected all the heartbreak after reading the first three books but I don't think anything could've prepared me for how reading this book would feel. By the end of the book it felt as though my heart was ripped out and stomped on and then mended back together again. I'm glad that Laia and Elias got their happy ending but my girl Helene deserved so much better so I hope in the new books she finally gets her happy ending. This series will forever be dear to my heart.

I can’t believe this series is done! It was quite the ride but I really enjoyed the characters and how much depth they had. The universe was pretty easy to follow.

I loved that Spiro just randomly left for two books and would pop up out of nowhere in this one lol
