I didn’t finish it because it freaked me out to read this horror and then realize it was written by an 80 year old Irish lady. The scene where she gave birth was unnecessarily depraved

This was a DNF for me. I really wanted to like it however, I was disappointed when I saw that the author was white. I got this from BookOutlet so I didn’t really look into the author beforehand so my fault. I would love to read something like this from someone from the Nigerian region or other PoC. I know she must have done a lot of research and felt deeply about this subject, but again, I don’t feel it’s our place to be writing a fiction story about it.
