This was a fun read. It has enough cuteness with Hamstersaurus Rex and Sam taking over everything. Right from the start there's a missing hamster, who we later find out was having a pretty hearty meal that makes him what he becomes. And, the story goes on from there. An interesting adventure for sure. Enough, to catch the attention of many middle grade readers. Looking forward to getting the rest in this series for my little ones.

Would have been 4 stars if it wasn't for the gross/scary danger noodle!!

I read this to my 4 year old, who loved it. I think it’s one he will enjoy reading on his own in the future.

Forgot my book at home during my 6th grader's music class. After noticing this in my car I started it out of desperation and ended up liking it enough to want to finish it. Cute, funny and silly.

This would be perfect for a 3-6th grader who wants a silly story! Lillian and Mitchell enjoyed this story and the illustrations.

Ansonsten ist alles da, was man braucht :
Freunde, Schule, nostalgische Sportlehrer und undurchschaubare Wendungen.

Closer to a 1.5.

There's a rich tradition in children's books for seemingly absurd premises. The Chocolate Touch, How to Eat Fried Worms to a point, there's a lot of stuff out there that just gets to the heart of the crazy imaginations that kids can have.

That brings us to Hamstersaurus Rex, the story of a classroom hamster that gets into some protein bars and becomes part-T-Rex.

Yup.

I have to say that this is really, really dumb. Like, really dumb. I love the lowbrow, but the caricature of the gym teacher, the really bad-at-being-a-bully-bully, the Evil Corporate Conglomerate (TM), all of these things mesh together for a story that just doesn't seem to work. There's nothing wrong with dumb books for kids - goodness knows there are enough dumb books and movies and shows for adults - but this one, just... yikes.

Avoid this if at all possible. It should have been better than it was.

This had a lot of cute puns. Geared toward boys, but cute for girls too. I really enjoyed it and will be looking for the second book.
