This book was just a dud for me. It's definitively a YAB. It's just a teenage romance, lighthearted, nothing goes wrong, magic is whatever you want it to be kind of book.

I just couldn’t get into this, which breaks my heart because I used to love Meg Cabot, but this was just all over the place and kind of boring.

A 3.5 for this paranormal romance.

I loved Jess, Derek, their crew and town.

I wanted a stronger ending but I’m definitely interested in carrying on with this series.

Very cute and light read. A good cozy fall/Halloween book. I love a plus size FMC and witches. Plot was alright but really petered off at the end, but I still enjoyed it enough to finish it! Like I said: decent read.

I felt like this one was a top-notch setup with a somewhat disappointing execution. It had a lot of stuff I liked--setting, characters, the main conflict--but then the pacing was pretty uneven. I felt like it needed another pass with a judicious editor to trim down some spots and expand on some neglected spots. It felt like a slow start, a rushed finished, and a not-too-convincing romance to me.
