Are you or is someone you know deeply obsessed with birds? Like maybe to a concerning extent? Then do I have the book for you!

Jam packed with journal illustrations from scratchy, silly bird comics to delicate bird portraits with breathtaking detail, it’s easy and pleasant to pick up and read an entry or two at a time.

I suspect some readers might gripe with the anthropomorphism of birds or tire of her wondering dozens of unanswered question, both of which I found entirely relatable as a curious artist sort.

This is a wonderful book about bird watching and nature Journaling. I would te commend it for everyone from the novice just starting to notice birds and wanting to start a nature journal to the expert who loves birds and wants new ideas for information to include In their journals.

Interesting. I liked that a story arc did come out in the end. I really liked the observations and remarks on reading or other related research. I did not like when the prose was filled with questions. One or two, especially with the journal drawings is fine, good even. Many in prose, not good.

Enjoyed this book IMMENSELY. In some ways, it is totally banal, simply one person's observations of their backyard, collected over a period of several years. In other ways, it is a collection of reflections and gratitude for our natural world, that honors and respects the creatures around us. The curation of journal entries lends itself to an emotional arc. Deeply enjoyed and I'm sure I will re-read.
