The Inferno gave a certain satisfaction that I associate with OCD -- the joy of cataloguing: minor sinners go to Purgatory, Judases go to the frozen deepest part of hell, everyone gets tortured in ways appropriate to their sins. Whee!
Was a bit confusing, though the footnotes definitely helped with that. I think I'd want to read another translation as well, just so I can understand better.
