This will be the last hitchhikers guide book I listen too with my dad, as I think it's the best end point for the series. This one has a slower, more relaxed pace than the previous 3, focusing much more on Arthur and his romance with Fenchurch as opposed to space adventures. This, in my opinion, makes it a nice epilogue to the first 3, bringing his story full circle and letting him finally have a win. That's not to say this book is slow paced, because the humor is still here in full. My dad particularly loved the rain god assides, as well as the final message from God at the end. This book manages to give Arthur, and the hitchikers series as a whole, a loving sendoff.

I don’t know why I am carrying on with this series, my hope is that I would finally understand this series and finally enjoy it. Unlike the third book, this book is set back in Earth, so I wasn’t as confused, but I still don’t get this series or the hype around it.

This book still follows Arthur Dent who we have been following for the past four books. There is a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. It's not an easy thing to do and Arthur Dent thinks he’s the only human who’s been able to master this little trick – until he meets Fenchurch, the girl of his dreams. Fenchurch knows how the world could be made a good and happy place. Unfortunately, she’s forgotten. Convinced that the secret lies within God’s Final Message to His Creation they go in search of it. And, in a dramatic break with tradition, they actually find it.

I loved the introduction of Fenchurch, and she was a breath of fresh air. I loved the relationship blooming between Arthur and Fenchurch and I am rooting for them. I enjoyed the fact that the storyline was back on Earth. I enjoyed the appearance from Ford as well. Besides the fact that the storyline was on Earth and the British humour was back, I'm still confused. If you ask me what happened in this book in a week, I could remember Fenchurch and the romance but that’s about it. I still don’t get all the space stuff and some of the storyline especially at the beginning didn’t make sense.

This book was better than book three, but I still want a book in this series to make sense that I will remember, but I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket for the last book.
