Grimy and distrustful of human nature. Claustrophobically dense with snowballing depravity.

Such a fun world to experience. The claustraphobia of this apartment complex was palpable at times. Hearing these characters desend into madness and an all out class war in an interesting setting like this was really a delight!

I listened to this on Audible and it was fantastically narrated by Tom Hiddleston, but the story itself was just a bit *too weird* even for me! I also found the pacing of it to be a bit unnatural, there was not much time for Laing to be established in his own right before the tension had grown a lot! It was interesting, but just not something I’d be longing to read again.
