This novella was fun and sexy as hell.

If you want something fun that has nasty seeex —this the one for you.

It was what I needed to escape life for a little bit

The author's note just said the book contains profanity and lewd scenes. And not a single lie was told. Kimberely delivered piping hot smut with a solid plot with well-developed characters... really, what more could a girl ask for?!

Okay, to get into it, Liberated tells the story of how Quinnen Moses has been grasping for freedom for a long time and how she will do what it takes to get it; even if it means calling off a wedding THE DAY BEFORE she's meant to walk down the aisle. And judging from her fiancé's reaction as well as knowing how her family is going to respond, she decides to take her bestfriend to the honeymoon they'd booked in Tahiti. Their phones are shut off, their bags are packed and Quinnen is already salivating at all the unholy things she's about to get up to the moment the plane lands.

There, she meets Elijah Cane: charming, has a bad boy streak to him, is looking for a good time while in Tahiti for his younger sister's destination wedding. And they hit it off. I appreciated that even though this is erotica fiction and a novella, we still got to see these two get to know each other, they were in each other's spaces long before they bumped uglies and the lead up to that moment was nothing short of perfection.

Both Quin and Elijah have their inner and out conflicts but in each other, they find that relief, that ability to let loose and just be in the moment. And them finding out they're basically living in the same state was all the fire I needed to see them want to take this relationship into more consideration than just a hook up in Tahiti. Like, they can see each other outside of this little getaway period and they do. And I loved every bit of it.

Obviously, before we get the HEA we had to get Quin going through various confrontations when she finally gets back on US soil and opens her phone back up. Daddy dearest is not at all impressed by the little stunt Quin pulled but she's done taking anyone's bs and is ready to stand on her own two feet. She's not the type of woman her father and her fiancé want her to be and that's okay, it's a shame she had to wait until it was almost too late to raise her grievances with how misogynistic and stifling they can be. I'm just glad she finally let it be known that she never wants to be the same woman her mother became and she took her life into her own hands.

I will definitely be checking out more by this author!
