Probably my favorite of the series so far. I really liked the character development in this story.

⭐️3.5 je leest zooo makkelijk door deze boeken! Looove it

Their story was sweet I loved this little blossoming romance.

3⭐️ Riley returns home after two years and tries to adjust to life back home and Brady starts to be there for her and they become friends which turns into more. This is a small town and a sports romance (football town). I didn’t really like this book compared to the first in the series, and I couldn’t tell you why. I feel as though I didn’t connect with these characters in this book.

As I mentioned in my review for Under the Lights, I did a little Field Party binge before the release of After the Game. I loved this book so, SO much. It was a quick and easy read and I devoured it in about two and a half hours. What a great book!

I thought Riley was a great heroine, especially for a YA book. She'd been through one of the worst things a person can endure, followed by being treated really poorly by people in town, but she came out the other side stronger. She also ended up having an absolutely adorable little girl as a result. This part could've gotten so preachy, but it didn't and I appreciated that. Riley made the decision that was right for her. I won't say any more than that. When she returns home to the town that shunned her, she's obviously bracing for the worst and she does get a little bit of that. But she also finds some true friends and even a little more...

In the previous book, I liked Brady but I also thought he was immature and self-centered. He was anything but during this book. Riley brought out a totally different side of him and I really liked that side. He was sweet, thoughtful and, honestly, pretty damn swoony. One of my favorite things about this book was how much he'd grown. I loved him with Riley, even when they were just friends. The scenes with him and Riley's daughter, Bryony, were too cute for words. Most of all, I loved how he helped make her transition back to her hometown smoother.

I enjoyed After the Game so much! It was such a great addition to The Field Party series. It gave me feels without too much angst and, honestly, it just made me smile. I adored the characters and it was fun to root for them. I hope this series isn't over just yet. I'm not sure I'm ready to give it up.

I wouldn't say this was the best written fiction I've ever read but truly I didn't expect it to be when I picked it up. Was a bit disappointed that the editors let some typos slip through. But I've been in a reading slump and I consumed this in one sitting so it did what I wanted it to. Overall I did enjoy reading it and I will consider reading more of her work in the future.
