Privilege White boy born as a prince complaining about his life and being way to invested in going to war and killing people.

Felt sad for him that paparazzi were harassing him but my god is he delusional and out of touch.

I just thought this story was so dull. It had the potential to be better (although I understand the issues surrounding the airing of family business and the like - but then again, why bother even writing the book then?), but it just fell relatively flat for me. Anyway, I'm glad I listened to this on Audible instead of reading the physical book because I probably would have dropped it.

I thought this book was an interesting perspective on being royal and the abuse that Harry and Meghan faced at the hands of the press and the family. I also appreciated hearing more about Harry’s background in the military and life before meeting Meghan - it gave an interesting perspective on him and what is important to him. I did think that he should have taken more responsibility for some of his actions or lack thereof as a young adult, however, it was very clear that he had a lot of growing up to do and that Meghan had a hand in that.
I thought that the stark difference between the births of their son and their daughter (read: how Harry acted at the births) was indicative of the growing up that he did in between those times. I think that we like to think of these people as infallible but this book shows that he is not.

Harry proves he's a fallible man full of compassion, intelligence, integrity, character, and love. incredible considering the environment he grew up in. he has nothing but my respect.

I found this book to be extremely interesting, even as someone who hasn’t paid much prior attention to the royal family. It provided a lot of insight and was full of emotional moments and funny stories alike. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for an intriguing memoir.

I enjoyed this memoir a lot more than I thought I would. Listening to it was extra enjoyable since it was fun to listen to Harry’s soothing British voice.

While informative and funny, this memoir revealed more than I knew about the royal family and specifically their relationship with the press. I can’t imagine going through what Harry and Megan did and still coming out as a good person… but they did.

I also enjoyed hearing about the late Queen as she was more a public figure than a person to me.

I think Harry did a great job conveying both his love and grievances while allowing his family to keep their dignity.

THE GOOD: I've had an interest in the royal family ever since I was a little girl and a Spice Girls fan, because they're both from England. 😂 I loved the private memories he shared of his family, the things we wouldn't know otherwise. It was sad to learn about succession and the meaning behind "spare" as it relates to the royal family. I found it heartbreaking to hear him describe the thoughts that went through his head as he learned of his mother's death, as well as how much he wanted to believe she would come back for so long. Also, no spoilers but the laughing gas story was hilarious. 😂

THE BAD: I could have done without the information about the frostbite on his dick. 🤢 While I sympathize with Megan and her experiences with the paparazzi, I feel like her naivety when it came to the royal family was frustrating to hear about. It's fine that she didn't follow the royal family, but if you start dating a member, wouldn't you look into it? Shouldn't you know what you're getting yourself into before you agree to marry someone? Harry paints Megan as a victim, but to some extent I think it was self-inflicted.

Favourite quote: "As a FRIENDS fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica's was highly appealing, and amusing." 😂

THE VERDICT: Really enjoyed it.
