Another typical Spenser book. I like these early ones, seeing Parker really get into the character. Interesting to see how the lack of technology really doesn't take anything away from the book. Interesting story of prostitution and the nightengale affect.

The movie business is a dark and shameful business. Spenser is hired to guard a reporter who has revealed mob connections with a production company. The bodies start stacking up, but Spenser persists in his pursuit of justice. The truth ends up almost stranger than fiction.

This one is a typical Spenser story: not much new except a small twist at the end. These are terrific for a relaxing and quick read.

One star for the bullshit justification for cheating on Susan and his horrific macho double standards. Also, great job fridging his new lady friend.
