I enjoyed it but holy trigger warning! You have to love more violent smut with consensual kidnapping/rape etc. I did not know that going in. I loved the idea and a woman and her landlord for sure and was happy there was smut. It’s just not the smut I was looking for 👀. Still a good story though that was chill with a happy ending

I didn’t read between the lines before starting this book, and didn’t anticipate the strong r@pe fantasy theme. Stalking fantasy was more mild. The consensual non consent went too far for me, and I skimmed those parts. If those weren’t included, the romance would have been four stars.

DNFing books is painful, especially when I made it so far in this one, but it's honestly just not worth the time and effort to finish it. I didn't hate it or anything, but I feel like I could exactly predict the next 80 pages and thus I feel no desire to read them. This book seems to be an exact replica of about 5 other rom-coms that I've read, with a few details switched out here and there. It has a big grumpy hot guy and a sweet happy girl, both of whom have been through awful relationships and neither of whom are capable of expressing their feelings to each other, despite both being madly in love with the other. And of course, the girl is about to move back home to a different continent, and they both absolutely refuse to have a genuine conversation about their future. Again, this is not a terrible book, but I am in a reading slump and this is doing nothing to help me out of it. The spice is good, but not worth sticking through any more of the cringey comedy and exhausting pining. Love you Tessa Bailey, but this wasn't it for me!

Honestly I loooved this so much even if it totally wasn't any of my kinks lmao so honestly sometimes I couldn't get into it.

I also felt like I should feel like Autumn was Too Perfect (a funny vet???? Who can draw????) But she somehow remained really realistic and flawed.

Absolutely adored all the other characters too.

I honestly can't take any stars off this. I wish we got a bit more inside Blake's head (like if he said something about being into the same shit Autumn is but not exploring it)

Contains:
Stalking and abduction kink and roleplay
Rope play
Plenty of sweet after care 💕
Lots of supporting each other to grow and challenge their limits 🥰

Reread march 28th 2024
