This was a solid 4 ⭐ book until the last 20% or so. That's when the motivations made no sense and the characters started to piss me off.

I'm trying to be better at accepting I don't want to keep reading a book and just giving it up. I'm just not in the right space for this now - I might come back to it later, there was nothing that egregious that made me pause, but there was also nothing that exciting that made me want to go on.
This book started badly for me - literally on page one - I was rubbed up the wrong way by whatever "Despite her working class background Autumn had never been one to hit the bottle in times of stress" is supposed to mean. It did get better from there, but I was already annoyed. I wanted more from Blake, where had his job skill set come from? Had he always been into the stuff he was into or was this an Autumn specific thing? Why had they not had a clearer conversation about what they were both into? I suppose I expect more C in CNC.
I'll update this if I do get round to finishing / rereading this, but 3 stars feels pretty fair just now.
