Good story and since I knew what I was getting into (Looking at you [b:Mind Invaders|587007|Mind Invaders|Dave Hunt|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1347325163l/587007._SX50_.jpg|1748998]) I could enjoy it for what it was supposed to be. Still don't buy into the whole you meditate and are possessed by the devil, but I can accept that there probably is a spiritual battle going on.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I just couldn't connect with the characters. The book didn't draw me in like Peretti's book The Oath did. Maybe my expectations were too high because of that or who knows! I might have to read the actual book. Maybe it was the audio that didn't cut it for me.

10/10 one of the best books ever! It may seem slow at times, but it is so well written you want to pick it up to re read the second you finish it!

As a Christian this helps me picture spiritual warfare and the importance of prayer. The theology is somewhat iffy though. Characterisation and setting is not great and it kinda reads like one of those tacky Christian films.
But..... it is thoroughly engaging fantasy and hard to put down. I was totally absorbed and had to read on even if it was not the best written/constructed book.

Loved it! The spiritual realm is real and Peretti is a unique writer. He doesn’t hold back. It’s a great story with an interesting array of characters. All of the angels have their own personalities and backgrounds.
My favorite is Guilo. He LOVES to fight. Tal, the captain has to keep holding him back. He's one who hollers and laughs while he fights

My dear friend, Shawn, recommended this book. It started off slow, but it ended up getting better.
