A great take on romance!!
This book did such a fantastic job of showing the characters' inner struggles, specifically with being what other people expect you to be. Keke instantly becomes one of my favorite FMC just because of her reliability. The struggle of trying so hard to match the expectations, not only what others have put on you, but mostly the expectation you've given to yourself. Keke tried and tried to be the person she thought she needed to be but somewhere in the story she lost herself and didn't even know if she was a good person anymore. I find these struggles so real and normal but never have I encountered them in a book so a gold star to Bolu Babalola.
I liked how this romance book focused on so much for than just romance. We got friendships, identity struggles, family issues, grief and so much more.
