The 2nd time reading this. Somehow it’s so much better than last time. I think when I read it last time, I was going through my own stuff and couldn’t empathize with Eric. This time, I got so emotional. I love them as a couple
—-

This was much easier to get through. Mostly because now I know what to expect. I know what Eric is going through is serious, but I'm not into the whole weepy thing when it's not done right. And every time he says he's weak, or he's not weak, I want to balk. I get that some men experience these emotions but I just hate that being vulnerable means he's weak. I guess the author is highlighting this issue in this book!

I really like Jesse. And Ty. I don't know many 23 years olds that are this mature! In a way it feels a bit like a role reversal, with Jesse being the nurturer where Eric is going through a journey of healing through trauma. Having experienced trauma I know how difficult it can be. I suppose I just didn't expect this in this book, or this kind of genre I typically go for to escape.

I will read the next book in the series because I think I deserve the happy ending after enduring these two books, but I might not read more books from this author. I just don't think his style works for me.

They're not bad, and the story is captivating, it's just not for me!

I love this series Best Friends Father is one of my favourite tropes.
This series is wonderfully written and I love how all three books are about the same characters which makes a nice change from each book being a different character.
The characters are likeable and well written.
The writing style is easy to follow and flows well.
Certainly a series I will continue to reread
Over all a really well put together series and deffo deserved 5*

Nowhere near as good as the first book. Drug on and on and on. I put the audiobook on double speed just to finish it.

Wow!

Normally, I would say having the same story go on for 3 books was ridiculous. I’m happy to say with this series, it’s quite the opposite.

There is so much to tell, details that are prudent to this tale that cannot be eliminated.

As I sit here writing this review, my brain is already prodding me to hurry it up so I can dive into book 3.

Not the best by Devon

I was disappointed with this one. It felt so long and drawn out compared to the first one and other Devon McCormack books. And it really bothers me the way he used smirk incorrectly multiple times in the book. Smirking is not smiling, it's a cocky, condescending face people make when they're being sarcastic and rude. Not a smile a son is forcing for his father when he's trying to cheer him up. I'll read the third one, and I've loved everything else I've read by Devon, but this one was not for me.

Naja, ich finde zwar toll, wie Sexual Assault thematisiert wird, aber ich hätte den 2. Teil nicht zwingend gebraucht, wenn der erste gscheit abgeschlossen wäre...

As I said in my review of book 1, I'm not a huge fan of series books, just a personal preference. I came into this series not realizing it was a series, totally my mistake. I did a little pouting in the beginning of this book, I admit, but the book won me over. It's a good book even for picky b*tches like me, lol. I enjoyed how their relationship with each other and with Ty evolved. I'm glad I pushed through my pouting!
