Promising, but too determined to include plot twists.

It's hard to write a dark academia book with a unique edge while still playing homage to the classics, but Hays does it! I want to say more, but man there's no way to talk about this book.

A must read for fans of The Secret History, The Starless Sea and basically any of my other favourite books.

The setting was cool, but it wasn't gay enough or interesting enough to sustain itself.  I think the most compelling part was learning about the poisonous plants and flowers, which should not be the case in a book that markets itself it does!
mysterious reflective medium-paced

Started off strong, I would have been down for that blooming into academic tarot educational content and/or for a spooky supernatural twist, but this was just a mess. Two subplots too many, no resolved.... anythings at all, no payoff on the vibes. Ugh.
