It’s been awhile since I’ve read an Alex Cross book and this one seemed a little darker and twistier than I remember. Woof. Lots of crazy stuff in this one but it was intriguing and twisty until the end.

Why oh why do I keep thinking James Patterson might have reverted back to writing as well as I once thought he did? Shame on me for thinking quality would ever trump quantity after he started down that slippery slope...

I didn't care for this Alex Cross novel. He kept irritating me. All the times he kept getting caught, beat up, etc. I kept thinking he's going too far. He should go home to America...he should stop. I felt it was ridiculous that he put himself at risk like that..it just seemed too over the top.

I really enjoyed the change in the storyline and how it took place in Africa. I wanted to keep reading because Alex didn't seem to win one.

This is the 2nd reading, and I raised the rating to a 3.  Still frustrated taking him to Africa and him being so impulsive.
