This is by far my favorite book, so far. The last 400 pages kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time. He's finally writing most of the characters well, although some character lines (Jon Snow) seem to have been written much earlier than he wrote the rest.

I have subconsciously built an armor out of dragon scales to shield myself from the emotional turmoil George R.R. Martin has been putting me into for the past three books. I would say that A Feast of Crows would hardly surprise me now, but I think I could hear muffled giggling in the godswood.

Was a fan, though I thought that some plot lines and POVs could have been trimmed down. Particularly those dealing with Jon Snow, Bran Stark, and Samwell Tarly. The plot of the north does pertain to the broader narrative, but sometimes it can be immersion breaking when it comes through after multiple chapters of Southern political posturing and intrigue.
