this book was okay, i didn’t particularly love it but i didn’t hate it either. i’ll say that it was definitely a product of its time. i was surprised that native americans were referred to as indians in here. was it the norm back then? i’m no american so i had no idea.
romance-wise, the relationship between wolf and mary was superficial. they fell in lust with each other pretty much the moment their eyes met. i guess some people would be okay with it but it made their relationship less enjoyable to read for me.
it’s like they didn’t even know each other and all they had was sexual chemistry. it got a little boring. i even skipped most of their sex scenes. imagine that.

Graphic: Ableism, Hate crime, Racial slurs, Racism, Sexual assault, and Xenophobia
Minor: Rape
• there were two scenes in which two female characters, mary and pam were almost raped.
• it was revealed that the rapist was a mentally disabled boy, who also happened to be a racist.
