this is such an important, funny and informative book for kids!

-having a baby does not require love, so this is going to need to go to families that have contact between multiple parents
-inclusive-ish description of having a biological sex. Honestly, the gendering is unnecessary.
-the page about intercourse where you can actively identify the many couples having intercourse versus participating in romantic things, like reading in bed together, kissing, or showering, could be very helpful to sort out anything that a child may be confused over. Also, one of the identifying couples engaging in intercourse are depicted as each having breasts.
-ya, this is not inclusive of trans/gender-nonconforming folx
-gay men are largely unvocalized within this text
-has a joking tone
-they haven't become a body, they've become a clump of cells. Yikes.
-actually love that this text pointedly says that the baby pees in the placenta.
-the puking individual is great, but like, she doesn't gotta be the mother.
-I am never recommending this book.
-specifically mentioning midwives was the right choice
-happy that they discuss the afterbirth

That's a no from me.
informative reflective medium-paced

Fantastic and direct look at sex, reproduction, and birth for middle grades.

Fantastic book! Covers topics associated with sex and pregnancy that don't typically get addressed, sadly.
