Cute quick read. Reminds me of Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez books.

📖 - I just finished The Break-Up Pact by Emma Lord, which was a book of my Afterlight subscription. Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite work for me. It took me much longer to get through than I expected, and I just didn’t feel any real chemistry between the main characters. In fact, I found both of them a little toxic at times, which made it hard to root for their relationship. The tropes (fake dating and childhood friends to lovers) might just not be my thing, but overall, this book fell flat for me.

Not an author I will read again.

really pleasant honestly! made me long for beach towns and boardwalks and also i’m so hungry for a scone now. an interesting contrast to emma lord’s YA novels, which i love but i also have noticed the characters growing a bit more mature than their ages would indicate.
