My first by Emily Lord
I pretty much devoured the audio in one day 8 hrs today 1 hr yesterday. Loved it
TROPES : friends to lovers, fake dating.

June and Levi are best friends who haven't spoken in a while. They decided to fake date to keep her buissness afloat and to make his fiance jealous. June's ex made her viral for all the wrong reasons. what reason, you ask?  oh, nothing, just professing his love by a different woman on a dating show in front of the camera, to which June had no idea. It was so bad they made her a sobbing crying meme 😅😭

Overall, I loved the story, June finding herself again, dealing with the grief of losing her sister Annie, of whom June, Annie, and Levi were all best friends.
Ending was extremely satisfying to Me :)

I usually really like Emma Lords books and this one was no exception. The protagonists were best friends growing up, but have grown apart. They both get broken up with by their respective partners and their break ups are now viral. What could go wrong if they fake dated? Quite a bit but in the direction you’re hoping for! What I was a fan of was how fleshed out and realistic (well as realistic as possible) the characters felt. However a LOT was left for the ending and for them to untangle themselves from the mess was a journey in itself, which I didn’t quite enjoy as much as the rest of the book! And yet, it was quite fun!

This is an adorable break up/love story.

It includes some interested character dynamics (dead sister, gay brother, ex childhood crush) but not much more than a mention and brief conversation about these interesting tidbits.

Definitely would recommend, and even read again, but it didn’t blow me away.

2.5 ⭐️ but I’m rounding up. It’s not bad, it’s just not memorable.

it was cute but ultimately i was bored with it. which is disappointing because i wanted to like it
thanks to NetGalley and publishers for this arc.

i found this boring and didn’t connect with any of the characters unfortunately

I don't know ... The tea store didn't pull me in, nor did the Annie angle.

This book was super cute! I felt like I was watching a rom com movie. Both characters have very valid and real feelings when it comes to heartbreak and breakups, which was very relatable. If you are looking for a fast, fun read I highly recommend!
