Ghosts! The 80s! Disappearances and a Serial Killer? What more could you want? The Sun Down Motel had me gripped from the start and I absolutely loved the switch between modern day Carly and 80s Vivian! So interesting!

Books don’t usually freak me out like this with ghosts but I was creeped! Especially the little boy in the pool, talk about terrifying? I’d hate to catch any of them in a dark alley!

The ending was great and the story felt completely wrapped up, Simon is dead, Viv is alive and well, we find out why he’s dead, how it was hidden and we even get Vivian confessing to the murder and being jailed, which in turn helped the other cases of murdered girls be solved.

3.5⭐️ this book was just okay. Had some good mystery but it felt like there wasn’t a whole lot of build up and the ending fell super flat for me. Wasn’t extremely interesting and just seemed very mid.

I followed along with the audiobook & I was NOT expecting to get genuinely scared! The paranormal aspect of this story really got me. The ghosts, the atmosphere, and the dual timelines were my favorite things about this book. Motels are creepy as it is, and this book just confirmed that statement to another level. I enjoyed this a lot, and I can't wait to read The Broken Girls by the same author!
