This book is enjoyable, yet slow. Each chapter contains multiple points of view, and sometimes that can be jarring. The plot is dark, confusing at times and terribly tragic. This is a good book to read when you're not going to get a concrete block of time to read it, as it isn't necessarily a page turner!

I really enjoyed the book, the only thing that confused me a little was the presence of that story set in the past. I haven't read the other books in the serie, so I don't know if it's something the author usually uses, but I couldn't understand what the correlation with the present was, at least until the end, and when I found out it didn't feel like something that contributed to the plot so much.
Anyway, the characters are very interesting and so it's the story, I definitely didn't see that ending coming.
