This book surprised me in that I felt like it read as more a journal of continuous thoughts instead of essays but nonetheless it is true beauty the way Ta-Nehisi Coates writes. He speaks in poetry and his prose captures so much emotion about such thought-provoking issues. I found each of the topics in this book interesting, although also infuriating, especially in South Carolina where he attended school meetings in which his own books were being banned. The section on Palestine felt the longest but overall felt it was really well written and quite gripping to read.

I wish all my friends would read this one

A very insightful book that showed me I have a lot to learn about the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict. The author is my age and it was nice to read from someone not afraid to still be learning.
