Apocalyptic, climate change, feminist perhaps or at least anti paternalist. Set in the near future.
Part of the book is set in imaginary versions of Harvard and Boston, inhabited by old money Boston blue-bloods.

The author made it seems like men are the root of all evil but they still mostly won in the end in my opinion.
