I finished ‘The King’s Bride’ and decided to start reading the first novel ‘Divine Blood’ from Guardians of the Maiden series. I really loved the characters and the world building. The novel had ACOTAR Vibes to it.
The only problem I had was the multiple POV that’s in the novel I sometimes felt lost and the storyline is a bit slower but the ending starts to really pick up!
Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Holly Black ‘Cruel Prince’ ❤️

Slow start but strong finish. If a dangerous quest and unlikely allies are your thing, this is a good one.

This book. This book RIGHT HERE. Sweet Elizabeth, I can't even begin to explain how much a joy reading this brought me.
First off I want to go in and say; I hadn't expected to like it. To no fault of the authors or anything! It's just, whenever I read a book that had gotten AMAZING reviews, it usually end up being a severe disappointment. But this book lived up to it's reviews and exceeded my expectations!
The only SLIGHT complaint I'd have about the book, is Dyna. I LOVE HER SO MUCH, but I wished she were a little bit stronger and not so much an air head. She's not an air head, but she is a little soft, but she's so SWEET. And when she did have her badbutt moments I could help but cheer her on. "Go, Dyna! Do your thing girl!" She's a curious blend of soft and strong, stubborn and harebrained, stern and sweet. She's perfect! (Hahaha, guess it's not much of a complaint then.)
I'm still in awe. I feel in love with the world so quickly. It was easy to understand, the world building wasn't too overwhelming and confusing the way some books can be. Beck Michael's blends the perfect amount of suspense with humor and slow burn romance. (And slow burn bromance!)
Cassiel and Zev's relationship had me chuckling with find amusement with every page. The way Dyna seemed to hold them all together when they started to flow apart.
It has been so long since I found a fantasy book that captured my attention the way Divine Blood had. It's never been the same since I found Cassandra Clare's books, that's all I had been reading really. But, by grace I had come across this and now I'm in agony of waiting for the next book!
Zev, Dyna, and Cassiel's relationship is everything I look for in a book. I can NOT WAIT, to find out more. To delve deeper into the world of Beck Michael's!
