The second book in the Will Robie series is an enjoyable follow up to the first one. Some of the politics are a little overly done and the ending felt a bit rushed, with the final showdown somewhat anti-climactic, but the middle makes for an intriguing game of cat and mouse.

I listened to the audiobook for this reread and this may be my preferred method for experiencing this series. Both the male and female narrators do a great job handling all the characters. As for the story itself, the addition of Jessica Reel, badass female assassin, is pretty damn cool.

Great read. I love this character. Will Robie is an assassin for the government, still reeling from things gone wrong on his last mission. He's sent after someone else in this story, and finds that things aren't always what they seem as he gets deeper into the hunt. Dealing with multiple security and agency directors in the US government, he realizes he can't trust everyone he thought he could. I love how he wrestles with "being human" vs. "being a machine", as he puts it. The characters in this book are strong, and the plot was suspenseful and kept my attention throughout. Lots of twists and turns, but most of them seemed pretty realistic.

Bon, 't is een onderhoudende en goed geschreven format. Niet het beste werk van Baldacci, maar het laat zich gewillig lezen.

This is another fast paced novel by David Baldacci. I enjoy his writing style. I like his characters and the story line. I will probably read it again in the future.
