An entertaining enough book, Baldacci's stories are a bit more complex and intricate than Vince Flynn or the like, but not by a whole lot. Will Robbie is an interesting and sympathetic character, at least as much as a hit man can be. I'll be interested to read the next book in this series.

I absolutely love this series -- after this book I think it may have passed Amos Decker on my Baldacci favorites list. The characters, plot, and the action are just fantastic!

I already knew from the first book that I loved Will Robie's ability to think for himself - beyond being just a tool of the government agency he's an assassin for - but The Hit brought that quality to the forefront. Charged with tracking down a fellow assassin - Jessica Real - who has been his equal (so, also the best the agency has) because she's gone rogue, we get to see Robie using his impressive skills but also questioning the web he and Jessica Real are entangled in. There's so many twists and turns, you'll be questioning and second guessing from start to finish. Loved it!

I listened to this and as with all David Baldacci's audio books, the performance is impeccable. They've really gone the extra mile, giving us two narrators, not just for the POVs but in a theatrical performance where they play all the male and female voices regardless of POV - Ron McLarty (male voices), Orlagh Cassidy (female voices). It's a real treat, along with sound effects, letting you get truly transported into the book. Highly recommend listening!

This book introduced a lot of players and threads that are sure to impact future books, leaving me super eager to continue reading.

I have always been a [a:David Baldacci|9291|David Baldacci|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1383944009p2/9291.jpg] fan ever since I read the [bc:King and Maxwell|17333431|King and Maxwell (Sean King & Michelle Maxwell, #6)|David Baldacci|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1379456669s/17333431.jpg|24064758] books but man, Will Robie *gushes* AMMMAAAZZIIINNGG.

Robie against Reel, the battle of the century
More like the battle of the giants,
But my best part,
Robie told Reel" Well , now you have me." "Do I? Really"
So Robie told her, "Close your eyes." She said, "What?"
" Close your damn eyes"
She closed her eyes and a minute passed when she finally reopened them. Will Robie was still there

*gushes* absolutely recommend this for all espionage lovers

I really enjoyed the second book in this series and ok forward to seeing how the relationships play out in the following books. Again, I can’t stand the occasional music and sound effects in the audiobook. Narrators are good though.

I love Baldacci but this one was definitely lacking. Maybe I should have read the first one, but not sure I am interested in this character.

I love Will Robie’s complex character. This book introduced the character of Jessica Reel and I hope to see her in the remaining books of the series!

Not my go to genre...

Page turner! Can't get enough of Will Robie. This is a new genre of book for me, and I'm enjoying them.

Another page turner! Pretty sure Will Robie is my favorite hit man :) I'm so glad David Baldacci has followed up "The Innocent" with this book to create a new series. I'm hooked and will definitely be reading "The Target" to see what Robie and Jessica do next.
