this book is a mythological, feminist masterpiece. the suspense behind althea's destiny was so, so satisfying as well, and something that kept me in the dark until the moment of the reveal itself. the relationship between hera and zeus was inherently unique as well and i consider it to be a welcome deviating from tradition. moreover, the portrayal of zeus himself was uplifting, inspiring, and, again, never before seen. for the first time in my lengthy experience with greek mythology, i find myself admiring zeus and hera! this was a refreshing change of pace and one that i am greatly anticipating buying.

As a former classics major I found this premise intriguing. After reading, I am both delighted and confused. There were some things that felt anachronistic to me, but given that it’s fantasy Ancient Greece, that didn’t really bother me. This book was both refreshing and heartbreaking. Many of the issues facing the women in this book are related to or mirrored in current attitudes towards women, particularly reproductive rights. It was an amazing read, but extremely intense. I’d highly recommend, but would definitely warn people of that fact so that they can make an educated decision about whether they can handle it.

I did not enjoy this novel. The whole thing read like one giant cliche with hints of feminism. Yes, the story is a different perspective on Cronus's rein, which is neat. I was just hoping for more.

This book was absolutely amazing! I loved Althea so much and I love how she is willing to do anything to save her sisters. I love that Theo helps her and never once betrays her even though she thinks he does. I love that Zeus finally unlocks his true powers and I love that he seems to actually care about Althea. I love that they are able to defeat Cronus finally and save everyone. I love that we find out the truth about the three sisters and that they finally get their powers.

I really enjoyed reading this retelling if the time before the Greek gods wends familiar with now. Very interesting to see a more detailed take on Zeus’s origin and the other gods.

My favorite character is Althea. She is loyal to her sisters completely and would do anything to protect them.

This book was fast paced and action packed. It is definitely my style of book. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters.

I had a hard time, however, “believing” this myth. I kept thinking of the original myths I knew of Greek Mythology. I had an extremely hard time believing the plot twist revolving around Hera. From mythology, Hera is a jealous goddess out to harm and punish women for the misgivings of her husband and anyone who challenges her. Althea is the opposite of this, so I became disappointed when it was revealed that Althea and Hera were the same. It made the story less “believable” so-to-speak.

Otherwise I enjoyed the book! It was a quick read with lots of fun adventures and action! When the sequel comes out I will read it because there were some things that were not answered.

I was gonna rate this book four stars but then I got to the ending and wow. Everything the book has lead up to and foreshadows comes to fruition and it’s freaking awesome. The dynamics between the characters are so compelling it’s clear that they genuinely care for one another. This book is a great twist on Greek mythology.

Good fast paced read, but the “twist” at the end was done too quickly and it left me feeling like I could use more detail
