A missing cousin and a private investigator who's been asked by her Uncle (the head of the family) to find her. Filled with family dynamics, a splash of magic, some paranormal mystery and rival London families. Enjoyed this one and will probably continue with this series!

This took me several tries to finish but I liked it by the end. It was a slow start and I don’t like manipulative blood-family dynamics, which this was all about. I enjoyed the setting and am intrigued by the magic stuff slowly coming to light.

Was a 3.5 but I’m in the processing of revisiting my reviews after sitting with the books for a while and in the end this is eh. More of a 2.5. I didn’t even want to pick the second one. The main character, upon further reflection, is deeply unlikable and the insta love is blah. I love the weird history and family dynamics tho!
