LeGuin's is the best translation I have ever read. She strips the masculine, the military, the governmental out of the Way, leaving a gentler, more thoughtful document. In summary, "Chill, dude."

Le Guin does an amazing job drawing out the poetic, mystical aspects of the text with incredible concision and simplicity. She might not really be a translator, and I can't speak to the technical correctness of her choices, but she clearly feels the teachings in her bones and it shows. Fantastic version of a classic text.

I'm not sure how to rate this since the book has been around so .long and has so many translations. I've only read a couple. But I did like this one. The translation seemed credible and the commentary generally helpful or interesting; What she brought to it, I liked. I'm sure someone with more experience with this ancient text will have much more helpful comments/input.

I really appreciate the copy for review!
