American Nations was good. This started off interesting enough, and I do love me some pirates, and I'm fascinated with that time period; pre-United States, still colonial. But, this book isn't a docu-drama, it's definitely a history book. I would much rather consume this information as a series of lectures rather than read it in a book.

Slow, not very engaging text. But many fantastic diagrams, and especially good information about maritime logistics.

One of the best books I've read on the Golden Age of Piracy, especially the fascinating history of pirates' actions around the Carolinas, Virginia, Massachusetts and Maine. Fast-paced and gripping.
