The fun characters, the thought-out setting, the storylines...the world of the book captivated me. However, I feel the need to call out the use of the phrase with racist roots “almond-shaped eyes” regarding the book’s Asian characters.

This was just okay. This paranormal romance turned into a serial killer mystery but unfortunately, I guessed the big twist early on. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the heroine. I thought she was kind of annoying. However, I did like Baek and think he deserved better. I don’t really have much else to say about this one.

I was not expecting much when I got this as a free audiobook, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. It was funny, interesting, cute, sexy, and more. I will probably eventually read the rest of the series, but I have a ton on my TBR.
I have already recommended this book to friends. Everyone should give it a try.
The story itself also resonated with me and it will probably stay with me for awhile.

I swore the book skipped multiple pages and I went back to reread since the romance scene seemed like it came out of nowhere. The setting is gorgeous and the characters are all very lovable.

The plot twist is obvious now after finishing the book but it still seemed legit while reading it. The couple has some cute ass affectionate scenes which I appreciated. A lot of novels just skimp on the "chilling" out scenes that would be like 90% of an IRL couple's life.

Re-read... what can I say this book is like the best comfort food to me: funny, full of quirky supernaturals & sweet romance. Plus the audio is really good - A+

This was a fun book - Jillian is an anthropologist who comes to the paranormal town of Mystic Bayou to study their community. She's smart and incredibly focused on her academic pursuits and pretty easy to like! Bael is the local sheriff and a dragon shifter.

I wish it was a bit longer - but I really liked both main characters. All the other characters in this story are great - I loved Zed, the mayor/bear shifter. I'm hoping the next book will be about him. Overall a fun, mostly light-hearted paranormal story.

I also figured out the mystery pretty early -that could have been a more suspenseful.
